How to Create Branded Short Links in Seconds
Using Ziplink to Keep Your Sanity.
Let's be real—long, clunky URLs aren't exactly inviting to click. Branded short links, on the other hand, not only look cleaner but also build trust, boost clicks, and reinforce your brand. Instead of a random, forgettable link, you get something that represents you and your content.
With Ziplink, creating branded short links is ridiculously easy. After adding your own domain, in just a few seconds, you can generate trackable, custom URLs that look great and help you stand out. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
First things first—head over to Ziplink, select the "Basic" or "Growth" package and either sign up or log in. It takes just a few moments!
Prerequisites
You can't add a custom domain unless you own one. If you don't have a domain yet, you'll need to register one first. To do so, you may visit namecheap.com or godaddy.com.
Once your domain is ready, decide whether you want to share your links with or without a subdomain.
If you choose to use a subdomain (recommended), add the following DNS record to your domain settings:
Name: subdomain.yourdomain.com.
Type: CNAME
Value: zipl.ink.
TTL: 300
In the case of a root domain (so called, APEX domain), add the follwing DNS record to point your domain to Ziplink.
Name: yourdomain.com.
Type: A
Value: 3.72.197.199
TTL: 3600
Add your domain to Ziplink
Once you're in, you'll see the dashboard. From there, follow these steps:
Navigate to your workspace's domain settings
Above the table, click on "Add domain"
Optionally, fill the "Alias" field with an easy to remember name
Add the desired domain you already configured with your DNS provider
Click "Submit"
Within a few seconds, Ziplink registers your domain in the background.
Create your first branded link
Now that your domain is added, you can create a link just like you used to, but this time using your custom domain.
Click on "Create new" in the sidebar to add a new link
Enter the destination URL where you want your visitors to be redirected
Click on the domain dropdown, and select your own domain
Optionally, add a custom link alias
Click on "Create link" at the bottom of the form
Voilà! You just created a branded link! 🎉
